Container Ramps
Thorworld Materials Handling is the leading container ramp company in the United Kingdom and Ireland. We pride ourselves on manufacturing and supplying only the highest quality container ramps, enabling you to quickly, efficiently and safely load and unload trailers, containers and vehicles.
Bumpers, Restraint & Protection Products
Providing protection in the loading bay area is of paramount importance. Thorworld understands this. We offer a wide range of products, from dock bumpers to safety barriers, which have been specifically designed to offer protection in the loading dock and other loading and unloading areas.
Loading Platforms
The absence of a permanent loading dock can result in considerable additional costs when handling products in the loading bay area. However, these costs can be significantly reduced, or even eliminated, with the installation of a modular loading platform which, in effect, becomes a loading dock.
Loading & Unloading Accessories
Thorworld have an extensive range of Accessories for use in the Loading Dock and other Loading and Unloading areas. This range includes traffic/pedestrian control measures, i.e. Loading Dock Traffic Lights, Loading Dock Safety Signs and Safety Mirrors, and the Loading Dock Safety Guards to act as a direct barrier.
Bespoke Products
At Thorworld we are aware that there are many situations where off-the-shelf equipment is not the most cost effective or safest solution to a problem. We therefore pride ourselves on our ability to tailor solutions to suit your specific needs. Most of our equipment sold is designed, tested and manufactured at our facilities in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, UK allowing bespoke versions of off-the-shelf items to be developed.
Dockplates, Boards & Hingeplates
In the Loading Dock Area the lowest cost way of providing access to vehicles from a raised level is via the use of Dockboards, Dockplates or Bridgeplates, either singly or in combinations of various Dock Plates, Dock Boards or Bridge Plates. Products are manufactured from High Tensile Aluminium, which give maximum strength with minimal weight.
Seals & Shelters
Thorworld has an extensive range of seals and shelters designed to improve the efficiency of loading docks by either minimising heat gain or heat Loss in the warehouse and transportation areas – depending on whether the environment needs to be kept warm or cold.
Dock Levellers
Thorworld have an extensive range of Dock Levellers for bridging the height difference that exists between vehicles and the Loading Dock which range from hand operated Levellers, up to automated Pit Mounted Electro Hydraulic Dock Levellers. These Electro Hydraulic Dock Levellers can be fully interlocked into your current system, or new builds for the ultimate in safe and efficient operation.
Ramps
Thorworld offer an extensive specialist range of Lightweight Ramps to cater for numerous applications. These Aluminium Ramps can be designed to suit your application, or select from our extensive standard range.
